Current Sewer Rates

MAWC's current sewer rates became effective as of January 1, 2009.

Residential Customers

Residential customers are charged a flat rate of $55.56 per quarter per single family dwelling.  In addition to the flat rate, there is a charge for usage.  The usage is based on the water usage.  This information is provided to MAWC from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.  The charge for usage is $3.00 per 1,000 gallons.  

Example:  A Customer using 4,000 gallons in a quarter would be billed the following:            

  • Flat Rate:                                                         $ 55.56            
  • Usage of 4,000 gallons billed at $3.00 per 1,000       $ 12.00 
  • Total Bill:                                                          $ 67.56 

Commercial Customers

Commercial customers are billed monthly or quarterly depending on usage.   

Quarterly customers are billed a flat rate of $55.56 per quarter per unit.  In addition to the flat rate, there is a charge for usage.  The usage is based on the water usage.  This information is provided to THTMA from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.  The charge for usage is $3.00 per 1,000 gallons for usage up to 17,000 gallons per quarter.  

Quarterly customers using 17,000 gallons or higher per quarter per unit are billed a flat rate charge of $6.40 per 1,000 gallons per unit. This charge includes the flat rate and usage charge.   

Monthly customers are billed a flat rate of $18.52 per month per unit.  In addition to the flat rate, there is a charge for usage.  The usage is based on the water usage.  This information is provided to MAWC from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.  The charge for usage is $3.00 per 1,000 gallons for usage up to 6,000 gallons per quarter.  

Monthly customers using 6,000 gallons or higher per month per unit are billed a flat rate charge of $6.40 per 1,000 gallons per unit. This charge includes the flat rate and usage charge.
