THTMA ANNOUNCEMENTS
NEW SEWER BILL FORMAT
The Authority is in the process of changing the format of your sewer bill. Instead of a postcard, residents and commercial users can soon expect to see a paper bill delivered in an envelope. We believe this change will make the bill easier to read and provide space for announcements to keep you informed. The new bill contains the same information as the old one, with slight differences in the layout.

Wastewater Management
The Hempfield Township Municipal Authority (THTMA) currently provides
sewage service to a total of 13,283 residential, industrial, and commercial
customers.
Our goal is to collect, convey, and treat wastewater (aka sewage)
– and transform the raw sewage into clean, clear water for discharge
back into the environment.
If you have a question or concern
not answered by our website, contact THTMA
today.

Notice Regarding Sewage Backup
To Our Customers: The Hempfield Township Municipal
Authority would like to respectfully notify you that property damage
resulting from sewage backing up into your home is the
responsibility of the homeowner, not the Authority.
Most insurance companies offer products to protect homeowners
from a sewer backup. Protect yourself from a sewer backup by
contacting your insurance agent. Furthermore, there are mechanical
devices (backwater valves) designed to prevent sewage back-ups available from local
plumbers.
We hope you will take the time to consider your risks and
select any options you feel best protect your property. If tenants
occupy your building, please advise them of this notice.
